Dr Stephanie Fahey

Former CEO

Austrade

Dr Stephanie Fahey is a Board Director of for-profit and not-for-profit entities. For fun she’s a fitness advocate who is passionately interested in design.

During her career she transitioned from university research and teaching in the Asia Pacific region to university leadership and became the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Monash University.

From Monash she spring-boarded into the private sector as a strategy partner of a global consulting firm - EY. Following this stint in the private sector, she was recruited into Government to lead the Australian Trade and Investment Commission as their first woman CEO.

Throughout her career a constant has been encouraging women and those from low socio-economic and ethnically diverse backgrounds to think big and she actively supported them to reach their goals. Along the way she’s learnt a few tricks which she’s willing to share.
