Julia Day
Senior Lecturer of Law

Julia Day is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of New England. She primarily teaches and researches into areas such as tort law and social media and the law. She has published extensively in these areas.
In addition, Julia is the head of the Communications and Engagement Advisory Group at the UNE Law School. Within this role Julia oversees and manages the social media platforms of the School. She also devises the strategy documents which inform these efforts.
Recently Julia has created her own website and social media presence which is titled 'Academically Blonde.' Within these platforms Julia provides comment on recent developments in her areas of legal expertise. In addition, she talks about her life as a legal academic and many of her teaching experiences. Her overall aim is to make the relevant legal commentary as accessible and interesting to as wide an audience as possible. In particular, Julia encourages her students to engage with these platforms in order to pique their interest in the topics they are studying in her units. These efforts are all relevant to Julia's PhD(I) project which she is currently undertaking through the University of New England.
Julia lives with her young son, so fully understands the challenges associated with bringing up a family whilst undertaking a professional role.
