Non-executive Director
Government, Private and Charitable Organisations
Karen has been a full-time director since 2014 and serves on the boards of both publicly listed and private boards, as well as volunteering as a mentor, including for Mentor Walks. Karen is a member of Chief Executive Women.
Karen has a B.Comm (UNSW), holds a CPA and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She has experience as an audit and risk chair and chairing due diligence committees. She has previously served on the listed-company boards of Spark Infrastructure, Future Generation Global Investment Company Limited, AWE and Silver Chef Limited.
Her executive career was in leadership and CFO roles, mainly in financial services and infrastructure. She is passionate about customer outcomes, financial management and well-versed in operating in a rapidly changing regulatory environment, which stems from her 20 years in banking with CBA and HSBC and eight years as a listed-company CFO and COO.
Outside of her NED and prior executive career, Karen has been active as a surf life-saver on Sydney’s northern beaches and is passionate about community rugby union, where she contributes as President of Old Barker Rugby Club. Apart from her own interest in most sports, Karen believes there are leadership, health, educative and disciplinary benefits in encouraging participation in sport.
