Renee joined Wollongong City Council in 2021. Renee joined her local Council in pursuit of supporting her local community, through the development of the human resources function to further enable internal support in building an extraordinary Wollongong.
Prior to joining Council, Renee was People & Culture Leader of Mercer Wollongong. Renee has held senior HR roles in not only the finance sector but also the manufacturing sector and call centre industries internationally.
Renee is a Non-Executive Director for WEA Illawarra a local Registered Training Authority in pursuit of supporting the learning needs of both school students and lifestyle learning.
As a passionate people and culture leader, Renee supports the professional HR community as the Illawarra Convenor for the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and has recently been awarded fellowship status.
Renee is passionate about supporting her local community and is the leader for Mentor Walks in Wollongong.
Renee supports her lifelong learning philosophy in partnership with the University of Wollongong (UOW) Alumni through mentoring students and sits on the UOW Advisory Committee for the School of Management.
Renee’s qualifications include: Bachelor of Commerce (Human Resource Management & Industrial Relations), a Bachelor of Science (Psychology), and Masters in Strategic Human Resource Management and Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
